I’ve always wanted simple elegant wedding dress.
To those who have been following my blog and ezine, would know that I recently got married. And one of the best part of planning an elegant wedding is picking a wedding dress!
I tried to stay away from the usual tube-top big pouffy dress. Choosing a simple but elegant understated wedding dress is also appropriate especially if it is your second wedding.
Here is a picture of me in my wedding dress.
About the dress: It is a full length corded french lace gown which has a diamond shaped back. It also has a train. One of my favourite necklines to wear everyday is the ‘boat neck’, so I figured I should stay true to myself and wear a dress very “me”.
But yes, just like every one else, I looked around and so the dresses that inspired me, that came close to being the “one”. I love them all nevertheless!
Simple Elegant Wedding Dress #1
Sometimes the easiest way to get rid of the frills and the fluff is to get your wedding dress tailored! I found this dress pattern at a sewing shop for a couple dollars. Yet, the cowl back and the tailored waist can look quite elegant, more so with gloves, as shown in this picture.

I love the grecian inspired dress. Especially the way the fabric drapes around the upper back and bunches up at the waist… there is something very ‘goddess’ about this dress.

A modern twist on elegance. It combines a structured top with a “flow-y” skirt. This is so understated and beautiful! Simply love it.

An inspiration from the 1970s, when it was all about flower power. I love the soft chiffon sleeves…there is something poetic about it.

An inspiration from the 1920s. I love the classic neckline and the long pearls, it’s ever so chic. And to contrast its simplicity, you can dress it up with a fancy headdress. Very beautiful.
